2025 EVENT RECAP

SPIN FOR OPIOD SENSIBILITY

The Raymond Rountree Jr. Foundation proudly hosted our first annual Spin for Opioid Sensibility Pickleball Tournament at Crestridge Park — and what a powerful day it was.

With three courts of round-robin play, community members came together not just for friendly competition, but for a greater purpose: raising awareness about opioid addiction and promoting healthy, life-giving alternatives that support mental wellness and recovery.

Throughout the tournament, participants of all skill levels rallied together in laughter, encouragement, and unity. The event served as a reminder that no matter what life brings — stress, grief, addiction, or hardship — there are healthy outlets that help us move forward. Physical activity like pickleball naturally boosts endorphins, improves mood, reduces stress, and strengthens connection — all essential components of sustainable recovery.

Spin for Opioid Sensibility wasn’t just about sport. It was about standing together as overcomers. It was about choosing hope. It was about showing that healing can happen in community — through movement, education, and shared purpose.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, supported, and helped us make this first tournament a success. Together, we are raising awareness, reducing stigma, and creating spaces where recovery is supported and celebrated.

We are overcomers — together.

STEPS OF SUSTAINABILITY

The Raymond Rountree Jr. Foundation proudly hosted our 2025 Steps of Sustainability event at the beautiful Rueter-Hess Reservoir, where 30 community members joined us for a meaningful walk along the reservoir trail.

This event brought together individuals from all walks of life — supporters, advocates, families, and those passionate about recovery — united by one purpose: to strengthen awareness and education around Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and the importance of sustainable, community-based recovery support.

As participants walked the scenic trail, they engaged in educational moments designed to deepen understanding of SUD, reduce stigma, and highlight the vital work of the Raymond Rountree Jr. Foundation. Along the path, we shared how our non-clinical recovery navigation, peer support, and housing stabilization services help individuals build strong foundations for long-term sobriety.

Steps of Sustainability is more than a walk — it is a symbol of the recovery journey itself. Each step represents commitment, resilience, and the power of community support. The conversations, encouragement, and shared purpose throughout the day reminded us that healing does not happen in isolation.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who showed up, walked alongside us, and continues to support sustainable recovery in our community. Because of you, we are able to educate, advocate, and walk with individuals as they rebuild their lives — one step at a time.

Together, we are stronger.

SPIKE ON SOBRIETY

Last year’s Spike on Sobriety was more than a volleyball tournament — it was a powerful demonstration of what happens when community, purpose, and recovery come together.

With over 30 participants, the energy on the court was contagious. Teams showed up ready to compete, laugh, connect, and rally around a cause bigger than the game itself. The spirit of unity filled the space as players cheered one another on, built new friendships, and strengthened long-standing relationships.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of our players, supporters, and sponsors, we raised over $1,000 to directly support individuals walking the road to recovery through The Raymond Rountree Jr. Foundation. Every serve, every spike, and every point scored represented hope in action.

What made the day especially meaningful was the unwavering support of our repeat donors and returning participants. They didn’t just show up — they showed out. With dedication, joy, and a shared commitment to recovery, they brought both heart and hustle to the court. Laughter echoed, endorphins soared, and the sense of purpose was unmistakable.

Spike on Sobriety continues to be a celebration of sober fun, healthy connections, and collective impact. Together, we proved once again that recovery is not only possible — it is powerful, joyful, and worth rallying around.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and supported this event. Because of you, lives are being strengthened, and hope is being restored.
